How to reactivate warmup after it was disabled?

What to do when warmup is disabled for your account

Updated over a week ago

Warmup is automatically disabled when your accounts bounce too many warmup emails from other users in the Instantly warmup pool. This protection ensures the quality of our warmup pool remains high for everyone.

How to Identify Accounts with Disabled Warmup

Navigate to your Email Accounts dashboard and use the warmup status filter:

  • Click 'All statuses' dropdown

  • Look for these warmup statuses:

    • Warmup active - Green/Blue/Orange flame

    • Warmup paused - Grey flame

    • Warmup has errors - Red flame(requires reactivation)

Before Reactivating: Check Your DNS Records

When the DNS records are missing, your accounts may bounce warmup emails, leading to the warmup being disabled. Please verify your DNS configuration before requesting reactivation codes.

Test Your DNS Setup

  • Go to the Email Accounts dashboard

  • Click "Test Domain Setup" next to the affected account

  • Review which records are missing or misconfigured

  • If records are missing: Learn how to configure the DNS records here.

Required DNS Records

Your domain needs these four records for successful email delivery:

  • MX Record – Directs incoming emails to your inbox (required to receive replies and warmup emails)

  • SPF Record – Authorizes your domain to send emails (reduces spam flags, improves deliverability)

  • DKIM Record – Adds digital signature to verify email authenticity and prevent spoofing

  • DMARC Record – Authenticates emails as coming from a legitimate source

How to Reactivate Warmup

Once your DNS records are properly configured, follow these steps to reactivate warmup:

  • Go to the Email accounts dashboard

  • Click the red flame icon next to the disabled account

  • Click “Request Reactivation Code.”

  • The code will be sent to the email address you're reactivating.

  • Enter the activation code you received(check spam folder if needed) and click Submit.

  • The warmup will be re-enabled.

Important: The code is only sent if the email address can receive messages. If your inbox can't receive emails, the reactivation code won't arrive.

If you see the error "Couldn't send an email, please check if the account address is deliverable," this means your email account cannot receive messages. Please contact your email provider to verify that the account is active and deliverable.
