Changing the Custom Tracking Domain - "track" to "inst"
Updated over a month ago

Note: From September 2022, we recommend using inst instead of track for your host name for your Custom Tracking Domain.

Here is a video that shows how to quickly update the host name of your Custom Tracking Domain when using GoDaddy as a domain provider:

  1. Login to your account (GoDaddy and Instantly account.)

  2. On GoDaddy account, click My Account and select Domains tab.

  3. Choose the domain that needs to be edited. After choosing, click three dots next to the domain and select Manage DNS.

  4. You will be redirected to the list of DNS records, and find the CNAME record with a track host name.

  5. Click the pencil icon to edit and edit the host name from track to inst.

  6. Once finished, click Save. After a few minutes, the data will be updated.

  7. Go to Instantly account and navigate to the Email Accounts tab.

  8. Paste the domain to find accounts under this domain and click the first account.

  9. A pop-up will appear, click on the Settings tab.

  10. Scroll down and navigate to Custom Tracking Domain.

  11. Change the text field from track to inst and click Check Status.

  12. If everything is set up correctly, you will receive a notification below the Check Status button: CNAME Verified

  13. Once finished, click Save.
