How to set up domain forwarding - Google domain

Follow the steps in this article to redirect your secondary domain to your primary domain

Updated this week

If you're using secondary domains for sending, it's recommended to set up forwarding to your main website. This ensures that if a lead types your sending domain into their browser, they're taken to your primary website rather than seeing a blank or error page. Watch the detailed video walkthrough here.

To set up domain forwarding for Google Domains, you can follow these steps:

  • Click Manage and select Website on the left side bar menu.

  • Click on Forward domain

  • Enter the name of your primary site in the Website name field.

  • Click on Advanced options

    • Select Permanent Redirect (301) for Redirect type

    • Under Path Forwarding, select Do not forward

    • In Forwarding over SSL, select SSL On - if you want to redirect to work for both HTTP and HTTPS requests

  • Click Forward to confirm
