You may encounter errors that prevent warmup from being enabled. This guide helps you diagnose and fix the most common warmup issues.
1. Account Paused
Warmup can't be enabled if your accounts are paused. Accounts are automatically paused when your free trial or Email Outreach plan expires.
Ensure you have an active Email Outreach plan
Go to the Email Accounts dashboard
Select all paused accounts
Click the three dots(β¦) in the top right corner
Click "Unpause selected accounts" to unpause all accounts
Re-enable warmup for your accounts in bulk
2. Done-For-You Accounts Still Setting Up
Setup for DFY domains takes 2-3 days due to DNS propagation.
You may encounter the error 'Unable to update account status' when enabling warm-up for DFY accounts if they are still in 'Setup Pending' status.
No action is required on your part. Once the setup is complete, the "Setup Pending" status will disappear, and the warm-up will be enabled automatically.
3. Please make sure that email address can receive emails before enabling warmup
This error indicates:
Your email account cannot receive incoming messages
Warmup requires two-way email capability (send AND receive)
The mailbox is undeliverable or not properly configured
For External Provider Accounts
Send a test email to the account
Check if the email arrives:
Log in to the mailbox
Check inbox (and spam folder)
See if test email delivered
Email arrives:
Receiving works, may be a temporary issue
Wait for a while to enable the warmup again
Email doesn't arrive or bounce: Contact your email provider to fix the issue

4. Please set the MX records for your domain before enabling warmup
This error indicates:
MX (Mail Exchange) records are missing for your domain
MX records are essential for receiving emails
Without MX records, emails cannot be routed to your mailbox
For External Provider Accounts
Step 1: Verify MX Records Are Actually Missing
Use MX lookup tool to test MX records:
Go to MXToolbox.com
Enter your domain (e.g., yourdomain.com)
Click "MX Lookup"
If MX records are found:
MX records exist
May be DNS propagation delay
Wait for a while to enable the warmup again
If no MX records: MX records are missing
Use Instantly to test MX records:
Go to your Email Accounts dashboard
Click "Test domain setup"
Review the results to verify MX records are properly configured
Step 2: Adding MX Records
If MX records are missing, add them before you can enable warmup.
Go to your domain registrar's DNS panel
Check your email provider's documentation to add the MX records
Step 3: Wait for DNS Propagation
DNS records take 24-48 hours to fully propagate. If still not working after 48 hours:
Contact your DNS provider support
Ask them to verify MX record configuration
Enable the warmup after the MX record is set
