You can easily transfer ownership of your Instantly workspace to another team member. Before transferring:
You must be the current workspace Owner
The new owner must already be a team member in the workspace(Team member invites are only available on Hyper Growth and Light Speed plans)
You'll need access to the current owner's email for confirmation
Step 1: Log In as the Current Owner
Ensure you're logged in with the correct workspace, especially when you have multiple workspaces.
Go to Workspace & Members
Your email should show "Owner" role
If you're in the "Admin" or another role, you're not the owner
Step 2: Invite New Owner
If the new owner hasn't been invited as a team member in the current workspace, please follow the steps below:
Go to Account & Settings
Select Workspace & members tab
Click 'Invite team member'
Enter the new owner's email address
Select a role from the dropdown
Click 'Invite'.
Plan requirements: Only Hyper Growth or Light Speed plans can invite team members.
Step 3: Accept Invitation
The new owner will receive an email invitation to join your workspace.
Already an Instantly user: Your workspace will be added to the new owner's workspace list. To switch between workspaces,
Select them from the drop-down list in the top-right corner
Search for the workspace by name or workspace ID
New to Instantly: The new owner will be prompted to create an Instantly account and access your workspace
Confirmation Email Not Received:
Check spam/junk folder. Confirmation emails are sometimes filtered
Wait 5-10 minutes; emails can be delayed
Ensure you're checking the owner's mailbox
Ensure the owner's mailbox can receive emails, or the confirmation email can bounce back
Step 4: Change Team Member's Role to Owner
If the new owner is already a team member in your workspace:
Scroll to the "Team Members" section
Locate the team member who should become the new owner
Click on the current role (e.g., "Admin")
A dropdown appears
Select "Owner" from the dropdown
A confirmation email is automatically sent to the current owner's email address (the account you're logged in with).
Check the owner's inbox for the confirmation email
Click the confirmation link in the email
Once confirmed, the selected team member becomes the new Owner of the current workspace. The previous owner becomes an Admin(or you can change to another role).
If You Can't Access Owner's Email
You need to transfer ownership, but you don't have access to the current owner's email for confirmation. Common Scenarios:
The previous owner left the company
Owner's email was deactivated
Lost access to the owner's email account
Owner is unavailable
We can help with identity verification. Please share the following details with our support team:
Current owner's email address
Your email address (team member who should become owner)
Proof of workspace ownership (billing info, account details, etc.)
Reason you can't access the owner's email
Once verified, we will manually transfer ownership to the authorized team member.
