SMTP settings for Microsoft accounts

For Outlook accounts purchased directly from Microsoft

Here are the steps to enable SMTP for Microsoft 365/Outlook accounts purchased directly from Microsoft. You can watch the full video walkthrough here.

  1. Log in to your Microsoft Admin Center.

  2. Navigate to Active Users.

  3. On a side window, click on the Mail tab and select Manage email apps.

  4. Check IMAP and Authenticated SMTP.

  5. Click Save changes.

  6. Wait for an hour and connect your Outlook account to Instantly.


For Outlook accounts purchased from GoDaddy

When you get Microsoft 365 accounts on GoDaddy, the setup is different for the accounts that are bought directly from Microsoft. You won't be able to access all the features in Microsoft Admin; instead, your SMTP email settings will be on GoDaddy.

Here are the steps to enable SMTP for Microsoft accounts purchased from GoDaddy. You can also watch the full video walkthrough here.

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account.

  2. Navigate to My Products.

  3. Scroll down and select the Email and Office section.

  4. Click Manage all and find the user you want to enable SMTP for.

  5. Click Manage and click Advanced Settings.

  6. Click on SMTP Authentication.

  7. Wait for an hour and connect your account to Instantly.
