What is the Automated Inbox Placement Test?
It’s a feature that automatically checks if your emails land in the inbox, promotions, or spam folders and gives detailed deliverability insights.
It helps by automating placement tests, providing insights into blacklists, spam triggers, and email health, allowing you to optimize campaigns and improve deliverability while spending less time on manual tasks.
You will need a HyperGrowth Inbox Placement subscription. The plan is shareable across all the workspaces you own.
Before running Inbox Placement tests, set the maximum number of inbox placement tests per day in the sending account settings:
How to create automated Inbox Placement tests
1. Go to the "Inbox Placement" section in your Instantly dashboard.
2. Click the “+ Add New” button to start a new test.
3. Test name: Enter a name for your test in the "Test Name" field (e.g., "Dec 9"). Click "Continue" to proceed.
4. Test Type: Select Automated for recurring email tests. Click "Continue" after selecting the type.
5. Recipient Mailboxes: Choose the regions and mailboxes you want to test (e.g., North America, Europe, Web.de, etc.) and tick the boxes for specific spam filters to check (e.g., SpamAssassin, Gmail Spam Filter).
6. Advanced Options
Accounts to use: Select the accounts you want to send test emails from.
Campaign to use: Select an existing campaign
Write new copy: Write a new copy.
Sequence step: Select the step in the campaign
Test email copy: review or modify the email copy.
Delivery Optimization: Send test emails as text-only and disable open tracking. This setting is not available when we select 'Write a new copy'.
Timing: Set the testing schedule
Run immediately and then follow the schedule: Send the test emails immediately and then continue sending according to the schedule the next day.
Delivery Mode:
One-by-one: sends test emails one at a time using a random delay
All-at-once: sends them all at once, with a delay of a few seconds between each email
Automations: Add actions based on test results. Some use cases:
Pause the sending for a mailbox when the inbox placement rate is less than Y%
Pause a mailbox when it is marked as blocklisted to proactively protect the sender's reputation
Automatically enable or disable slow ramp based on the inbox placement rate results you’re getting (or send a webhook).
