If you would like to connect Google/Gsuite accounts to Instantly, you should follow these 4 steps:
Enable IMAP settings
Enable 2-Step verification
Create an App password
Connect your email account to Instantly account
The first three steps need to be completed for every email account you want to connect to Instantly😎
How to enable IMAP settings?
If you want to enable IMAP in your Google/Gsuite account, please follow these steps:
On your computer, open Gmail
Click on Settings (engine icon) in the top right corner
Click on See all settings
Click the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab
In the "IMAP Access" section, select "Enable IMAP"
Click Save Changes
How to enable 2-Step Verification?
To enable 2-Step Verification in Google/Gsuite account, you should:
Go to https://myaccount.google.com/u/1/security and click on "Two-Step verification"
Click GET STARTED
It will prompt you to login again
Set up your phone for Two Factor authentication
Enter the code you’ve received to your phone number to confirm
Once you’ve confirmed click Turn On
2-Factor Verification has been enabled now
How to create an App password?
Once you enabled IMAP and 2-step verification, you should create an App password and these steps will show you how:
Go back to the Security page. https://myaccount.google.com/u/1/security and type App passwords in the search bar.
Select App and Device. For the App click on Mail. And for Device, you can simply click on Other (Custom)
Select a name. The name doesn’t really matter but for organizational purposes, you can type in Instantly - Email Connection and then click on Generate.
An app password will be automatically generated. Copy it and save it somewhere safe.
Once you’ve copied the app password click on DONE
How to connect the email account to Instantly?
Now, when you have all three steps enabled, you can easily connect your email account to Instantly. Please follow these steps:
Go back to Instantly to connect your account
Click on "Add New"
Choose "Gmail / G-Suite"
Click "Yes, IMAP has been enabled"
Select Option 2
Click on "Next"
Type in your Name, email, and app password
Click CONNECT 🤩
