How to Add Preheader Text

Add preheader text from the code view in the sequence editor

Updated this week

Preheader text is the short preview that appears next to or below the subject line in the recipient's inbox.

  • Open your email and switch to Code View by clicking the <> icon.

  • Add the following code to the very top of your email copy: <div style="font-size:0px;line-height:1px;mso-line-height-rule:exactly;display:none;max-width:0px;max-height:0px;opacity:0;overflow:hidden;mso-hide:all;">Your preheader text here.</div>

  • Replace "Your preheader text here" with the preview text you want recipients to see.

  • Switch back out of Code View.

Note: The preheader text won't be visible when previewing the email within Instantly. To verify it's working, send yourself a test email. The preheader will appear in the inbox preview but won't be visible when the email is opened.
