Instantly offers seamless integration with your email accounts, but before you dive into the convenience, there are initial steps for connecting Google/Gsuite email accounts effortlessly.
Starting January 2025, the option to choose “Enable IMAP” or “Disable IMAP” won't be available. IMAP access is always turned on in Gmail.
Step 1: Enable the two-step verification
Enabling two-step verification is a security measure for your Google/Gsuite account. By implementing this feature, you can add an extra security layer to your account. To enable this, please follow these quick steps:
Go to your account and select the Security tab.
Select the two-step verification and click Get Started.
You will need to log in to your account again.
Set up your phone number for two-factor authentication.
A code will be sent to your number. Enter the code you've received to your phone number to confirm.
Once you've confirmed, click Turn On.
Step 2: Create an App Password
Once you've finished enabling IMAP and two-step verification, you'll proceed to the final step: creating an App Password. To do this, please follow these procedures:
Go to your account and search App Password in the search bar.
For App, select Mail and for Device, select Other (Custom) and type a name.
Click Generate.
An app password will be automatically generated. Copy and save it and click Done.
