What is SuperSearch and how it works

SuperSearch helps you find more leads (over 450M contacts), get more verified emails with waterfall enrichment, and enrich contacts with AI for more context, which you can use in your email copy.

There are no complex workflows, just search, enrich, and add to the campaign.


Here is a full walkthrough of the feature:

1. Start with a Search

You can search for leads in two ways:

  • Use AI Search: Type your ideal lead description (e.g. “Founders of SaaS companies in New York with 50–100 employees”) in the search bar, then click AI Search.

    • Save Searches: Edit or delete saved searches

    • Recent Searches: Display the most recent searches

  • Manual Filters: On the left-hand side, you can filter manually by job title, industry, location, revenue, tech stack, keywords, and more.

    • Document icon: Save searches to easily apply the same filters

    • Skip already owned: Checks all the leads that were previously acquired by the workspace and excludes them from the search results

    • Job titles: Include or exclude job titles. You can also filter Management level + Department.

    • Location: Filter leads by location

    • Industry and Keywords: Include or exclude certain industries or keywords

    • Employees size: Filter leads by employees size

    • Revenue: Filter leads by revenue

    • Lookalike domain: Use the Lookalike domain if you want the results to be similar to the domain you entered. Toggle between the broad and targeted searches.

    • Domains: Enrich domain lists or gather leads from domains. You can upload domains using CSV or Google sheet.

    • Job Listings: Search for companies looking to hire specific job roles

    • Technologies: Scan the technologies present on a website. Use it to target companies that use some of your competitor's services.

    • News: Recent headlines or media mentions

    • Funding type: Funding status of the company

    • Name: Filter leads by name

    • Company name: Include or exclude certain company names. Enable 'One lead per company' to ensure you generate only one lead from each company.


2. Enrich Your Leads

Once search results appear, click "Find Email" (top right).

Choose Your Enrichment Type:

  • Work Email Only: Find verified work emails for your leads. Read more about Waterfall enrichment here. Credit usage:

    • 1 credit: Verified email found by Instantly

    • 2+ credits: Verified email from data partners

  • Full Profile: Includes job title, LinkedIn URL, company description, headcount, and more.

  • Custom Flow: Finding work emails using your custom waterfall strategy, which supports FindyMail, LeadMagic, IcyPeas, Prospeo, Wiza, ContactOut, and BetterContact. You can reorder providers, switch steps on/off, and build your own waterfall sequence, giving you full control over cost, accuracy, and strategy.

Additional Enrichment Options:

  • Auto-Update Rows: You can also auto-update existing rows.

  • Only Enrich Leads with an Email(enabled by default): Enriches full profile only for leads with work emails. Prevents wasting credits on leads without emails.

  • Enable Evergreen: When enabled, it will automatically add new leads from SuperSearch to your list on a recurring schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly). This ensures your list stays fresh with new prospects matching your criteria.


3. Select Number of Leads

After configuring enrichment:

  • Click "Continue"

  • Pick how many leads to enrich (e.g., first 25).

  • Leads will be enriched and added to your Lead Lists


4. Understanding the Credit System

You now receive Instantly Credits, which are more flexible and offer more functionality than the Lead Finder credits.

The main difference is that Instantly Credits can be used across a range of actions. The exact number of credits used will depend on the action.

  • 1 credit for a verified email found by Instantly

  • 2+ credits for a verified email from one of our data partners

  • AI enrichment starts at 0.5 credits, depending on the provider

Here are the plans with the new credit system:

  • 150 Nano Credits ($9/month)

  • 1,500 Growth Credits ($47/month)

  • 5,000 Supersonic Credits ($97/month)

  • 10,000 Hyper Credits ($197/month)

5. Enrich Personal & Company info

After clicking Enrich & AI in the list, you can toggle on/off specific enrichment types:

6. AI & Scraping Enrichments

In the Enrich window, open the AI & Scraping tab. Here you can add powerful automations:

Generate one personalized email per lead automatically

You can connect various AI models (like OpenAI, DeepSeek, Anthropic, Google) by adding your API key or subscribing to Instantly Credits to use Instantly's AI account.

Advanced options:

  • Conditional Formula: Run prompts based on the following conditions for the columns: If all or any of the selected columns equal or do not equal a certain value, contain or do not contain a specific value, are empty or not empty, or are greater than or less than a certain value.

  • Overwrite output rows if they already exist: Generate new results if the output is already present.

  • Auto-Update rows: Enable the option to keep outputs fresh over time.

  • Generate test output: Generate test output to ensure the prompt is working as expected.


6. Export or Send to Campaigns

SuperSearch is built to be fast, simple, and usable without any technical setup. Just search, enrich, and send to campaign.

Main Actions

  • Add leads: Import leads to the list

  • Export: Export SuperSearch leads to Salesforce, HubSpot, Apollo, Lemlist, Smartlead, or Pipedrive.

  • Filter: Filter leads by lead statuses, Variables, lead ESP, lead owner, and conditions

  • View history: View credits usage, enrichment history, and timestamp

  • Delete list: Permanently delete the list and all its leads

  • Edit list: Change list name or list owner

  • Auto update: Automatically enrich all new leads added to the list

Selecting & Managing Leads

  • Select individual leads: Tick the checkbox next to each lead

  • Select first X results:

    • Select a specific number of leads

    • Available actions: Download, assign, delete, move

  • Select all results:

    • Select all leads in the list

    • Available actions: Download, assign, move

    • Note: Delete action is disabled to prevent accidental bulk deletion

Moving Leads Between Lists/Campaigns

  • Moving to lists requires Hyper Growth or Light Speed plan

  • Only leads with work email addresses can be moved to campaigns

  • Verify you have sufficient uploaded contact limits in your workspace when moving leads to campaign

Steps to move leads:

  • Select the leads you want to move

  • Click 'Move' in the top-right

  • Choose destination (campaign or list)

  • Configure move settings:

Reset lead interest status

Clears interest labels (Interested, Not Interested) when moving. If disabled, interest labels are preserved

Check for duplicates across All campaigns

Prevents adding leads that already exist in other campaigns. Uncheck to allow duplicates

Enable Evergreen

Automatically moves new leads from this list to the campaign on a recurring schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly)

FAQ

1. How many leads can I find?

SuperSearch taps into 450M+ contacts and runs real-time enrichment across 5+ providers to maximize your results.

2. What’s included in each lead?

You get the work email, job title, company name, location, LinkedIn URL, and additional info with enrichment: contact summary, contact headline, subindustry, company size, company description, and more.

3. Do I need to verify the leads?

No. The contact data is verified and ready to use. You can send it directly to your Instantly campaign or export it to any major provider.

4. What is waterfall enrichment?

If one provider can’t find an email, SuperSearch automatically tries the next. This means more verified leads per search.

5. Can I use AI for outreach?

Yes. You can run personalization prompts using company context to write custom outreach without leaving the platform.

6. How does the credit system work?

SuperSearch uses Instantly Credits:

  • 1 credit = verified email by Instantly

  • 2+ credits = verified email via partner provider

  • So on average, you will be spending approximately 1.5 credits per verified work email.

  • 0.5 credits = AI enrichment

The total number of credits used per contact depends on the total number of actions.

7. What happens with my active Lead Finder Subscription?

Your subscription stays the same, you get more credits and more functionalities for the same price. As a bonus, we doubled your remaining credits for the first month!
