How To Add GIFs to Your Campaigns

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Get Your GIF Link

  • Giphy.com: Copy the GIF shared link and directly go to Step 3

  • Google Photo: Upload your GIF to Google Photos

    • Click Share

    • Click Create link

    • Copy the shared link

Step 2: Convert to an Embed Link

  • Paste your Google Photos link in the "Google Photos Link" field

  • Click "Generate Embed Code"

  • Copy the "Direct Image link" that appears

Step 3: Add Image to Your Instantly Campaign

  • In your Instantly account, go to Sequences

  • Click the "+" button to add content

  • Click "Insert Image"

    • Giphy.com: Paste the shared link directly

    • Google Photo: Paste the generated Direct Image link

  • Click "Insert"

Step 4: Preview Email

  • Click the "Preview" button

  • Choose a lead from the 'Load data for lead' field

  • Preview GIFs in the email


Why GIFs Might Not Work

If your GIF doesn't display after following these steps, check these two settings:

1. Delivery Optimization Setting

  • Go to your campaign's Options section

  • Make sure "Delivery Optimization" is disabled

    • Send emails as text-only(no HTML)

      • When enabled, this sends all emails as plain text

      • This feature strips images from all steps

    • Send first email as text-only

      • When enabled, this sends the first email as plain text

      • This feature strips images from Step 1

2. First Email Text-Only Setting

  • Make sure "Always send first email as text-only" is disabled

  • This feature strips images from Step 1 across all campaigns
